Mr. Glenn Reed who has been with OFFICE 1 since 1996, most recently as VP Operations worldwide, has wrapped things in the US to join OFFICE 1 Indonesia as General Manager reporting to Prabowo Widya Krisnadi, President Director of the Kawan Lama Group, a publicly held company and OFFICE 1 master franchisee.
Additionally Mr. Reed will be counseling and guiding in the building of a state of the arts Logistics Center in Jakarta to reflect the greatly expanded and ambitious plans of Kawan Lama in B to B and Ecommerce.
This is not the first time that Glenn has packed his bags and picked up assignments away from headquarters. He was the GM of OFFICE 1 Italy from 2003 to 2007 and thereafter head of OFFICE 1 China in 2007-2008.
During all his years of service, Mr. Reed has always been in the thick of battle where the stakes were highest and utmost gallantry and hard work were required. His move to Jakarta is a reflection of the growing importance of this populous and fast growing country and the great potential it holds for OFFICE 1 International.

OFFICE 1 Superstores International contracted Agema Consulting AS, a Norwegian consulting agency specialising in restructuring, turnarounds, M&A and assisting companies in entering new markets, to help it locate Scandinavian and Russian Master Franchisees and Joint Venture partners.
Agema Consulting AS already met with several contract stationers in the Russian regions of Krasnodar, Samara, St. Petersburg. It is expected that this search will result in the appointment of a master franchisee or regional developers for these areas.

A regional meeting took place recently in Sofia, Bulgaria. It was attended by the OFFICE 1 Master Franchisees of Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia and the OFFICE 1 International Team headed by Mr. Mark Baccash, CEO of the company.
The meeting’s main objective was to review the latest developments and improvements in the OFFICE 1 E-Commerce Platform and Associate Program already up and running in France www.office1.fr and Germany www.office1shop.de.
Following the meeting, Greece will be the first country to launch the E-Commerce project by end year followed by Italy sometime in 2012.

OFFICE 1 SUPERSTORES INTERNATIONAL Inc. announced a new OFFICE 1 Master Franchise in Cyprus. The agreement was officially signed on 30th August, 2011 in Nicosia, North Cyprus.
The Master Franchisee, E&C Trade Company founded in June, 2011 specializes in general trade including stationery, electronics and construction. The Office 1 Cyprus General Manager is Mrs. Emete Gözügüzelli Civan.
An accomplished journalist and President of many civil organizations dealing with Democracy and Human Rights, Mrs. Civan together with her husband Mr. Civan, a distinguished architect, will be launching a 220 m2 store in Nicosia in early 2012.

On July 23rd and 24th, OFFICE 1 Indonesia celebrated a pre-Ramadan Midnight Sale with every single product in the store discounted after 8 PM. Hundreds of customers thronged the store to take advantage of the deep discounts resulting in long waiting lines and a carnival like atmosphere.

(West Palm Beach, Florida.) -- OFFICE 1 SUPERSTORES INTERNATIONAL Inc. today announced the forthcoming introduction of Office 1 superstores in Haiti.
The Master Franchise, Fourniture Expo, started out in 1997 as a 600 Sq Ft stationery store founded by a young and dynamic entrepreneur, Claudel Dumas, and his wife Katia a lifelong school teacher and the founder and Principal of a modern pre-elementary school. Both were animated by the vision of offering basic stationery with reliable service and free delivery to a diverse clientele whose expectations had been raised by the recent lifting of the US embargo.
In 1999, this embryo store was expanded to 3,500 Sq Ft to accommodate the addition of office furniture to the assortment. The new home page is user friendly and easier to navigate. The category dropdown menu and advanced search box make it quicker to search for and find products. The wider banner slider focuses on hot promotional items and a Bestsellers and Featured Products help users make the right product choices.

On June 21st, 2011 OFFICE 1 Bulgaria in collaboration with HP launched a second HP Print Station at the seaside city of Varna.
At the opening ceremony the ribbon was cut by Mrs. Elka Kamenova -General Manager of OFFICE 1 Bulgaria, the OFFICE 1 master franchisee, and Mr. Nikolay Dimitrov - Head of the Imaging and Printing Group at HP Bulgaria. The new service will provide wide access to print all kinds of advertising materials for small and medium enterprises.
This HP Print Station in Bulgaria follows the first one launched in mid-May at the OFFICE 1 flagship store in Sofia.
"In less than a month, we’ve printed over 30,000 copies, 17,000 of which are in color. The customers come, choose one of the ready templates and order their corporate forms, business cards, brochures, etc. at optimal price. This shows that the service has great potential for development and that our customers are beginning to benefit from its full capabilities. I think that this momentum will be transferred to Varna, where SMEs account for 99.8% of the business. Moreover, most local companies are already our customers.”, said Elka Kamenova.

OFFICE 1 buyers attended one of China’s largest office products trade events – the Canton Fair, which held its last session between April 15th and May 5th in Guangzhou, China.
The fair is held twice a year in Spring and Autumn and is a comprehensive event of international importance. Its most important role is to boost China export sales and strengthen its economic relations with other nations.
The 109th edition of Canton Fair was reported to be the most successful session of all times by its organizers. Exhibitors from over 53 countries participated and a total of 207,103 visitors and buyers attended the Fair.
OFFICE 1 International team in charge of sourcing and logistics of OFFICE 1 China Export visited the fair accompanied by buying teams from OFFICE 1 Philippines and OFFICE 1 Indonesia. OFFICE 1 Bulgaria head buyers were also present at the fair.

The HP Print Station provides new opportunities for reliable, high quality multi-format color printing of business and marketing materials from numerous media sources. The set up and equipment of the Print Stations fit well with the OFFICE 1 store interiors and complement the products and services this leader on the Bulgarian market is famous for. The HP Station will provide solutions suitable for individual customers as well as for a wide range of small and medium size companies and organizations.

(West Palm Beach, Florida.) -- In keeping with its strategy of entering advanced markets of Western Europe through E-commerce and not retail master franchises, OFFICE 1 SUPERSTORES INTERNATIONAL Inc. today announced the launch of its third E-Commerce joint venture, this time in Germany.
OFFICE 1’s Joint Venture partner is König Bürotechnik, a corporation based in Friedberg. Founded in 1976, König Bürotechnik started out as an office machines repair and service shop. It was acquired in 2002 by the Aristik Group, a national network of ten companies and 350 employees active in a number of office products fields, such as the sale of hardware and technical service and support, IT- solutions and consulting, and a dealership for the sale of office supplies, furniture and equipment. The group’s combined annual turnover is in excess of 150 mm Euros.
Aristik is also a distributor of well known office machines brands and is a 2011 HP Preferred Partner Gold and a Large Format Partner of Canon.
The “Office 1 e-Shop.de” platform will go on line in July 2011 under the young leadership of Volker Schlautek, followed by the OFFICE 1 E-Entrepreneur Student Program which provides students with earning opportunities and entrepreneurial experience selling office products on the OFFICE 1 e-shop and capitalizing on their social networks.
Further joint venture entries in other European markets are programmed for 2011 starting with the Czech Republic in August this year.

OFFICE 1 International has signed an E-Commerce Joint Venture Agreement with Adix/Micos for the Czech Republic. The OFFICE 1 E-Shop platform will launch in March 2011 to be followed with the implementation of the Associate (web franchisee) program.

OFFICE 1 Libya launched its first superstore July 12, 2010. The store is 1200 m2 in size spread over two floors and is located in the main business district of Tripoli, the capital.
The store has been a great success for the public since its launch and is a unique in Libya in terms of size and the fact that businesses can find all their office needs under one roof. A second store is scheduled for mid 2011 and the first ever office products catalog will be mailed in March 2011. Let it not be said that OFFICE 1 shrinks away from unexplored but promising markets.

Frankfurt, Germany, February 1 2010. Office 1 Superstores International attended the annual Paperworld fair in Frankfurt. The event gathers sector-relevant suppliers from all over the world to share the latest trends and innovations in the Paper, Office Supplies and Stationery industry.
Office 1’s Purchasing team was onsite meeting various international partners as well as interesting new vendors. Initial talks were held with suppliers from China, India, Germany and USA. The new agreements will be announced later in 2010.

On February 19 and 20, the 10th Annual OFFICE1 Master Franchisee Meeting took place in Istanbul. Messrs Sacit and Mehmet Samli, master franchisee for Turkey, hosted the meeting at the Sheraton Princess in Maslak.
President and CEO Mark Baccash recapped the group’s developments in the past year and reviewed the prospects for growth in the context of the global economic crisis.
Speakers from various Office 1 countries presented the progress of their franchises and participated in discussions on prospects for product sourcing, collective buying and how best to face current economic conditions.
The meeting ended on a high note at a fish restaurant on the Bosporus with all participants looking forward to a difficult but manageable year and to the next global gathering.
